Women’s Sport in March 2025
2025 is the year of embracing women’s sports. From athletics to rugby, 2025 is the time to get involved and try something new. Whether you’re in the water on the pitch or pounding the pavements, embrace new opportunities in sport this year to forge friendships and boost confidence.
Here are some must-watch women’s sports to tune into this March that will inspire you to get involved:
Netball Super Cup
If you’re a netball fan, listen up! On Sunday 8th March, 8 high-class netball teams will take to the court in a state of the art one-day competition. Netball Super League, the UK’s elite domestic netball league have invited Birmingham Panthers, LexisNexis Cardiff Dragons, NIC Leeds Rhinos, London Mavericks, Loughborough Lightning, Manchester Thunder and Nottingham Forest Netball to go head to head at the Utilita Arena Sheffield at 12:30pm. These 8 teams will be divided into two groups for the group stages. Successful groups will go through to the semi-final and final where they can compete for the chance to be crowned the first ever 2025 Netball Super Cup champions.

World Athletics Indoor Championships
Taking place in China this year, the Indoor Championships are going to be full of excitement and action. Spread over the course of 3 days, from 21st to 23rd March, athletes from across the globe will compete in a multitude of track and field events. Over 500 athletes from 120 nations will compete for medals in 26 different events. In particular, Great Britain’s Katarina Johnson-Thompson will compete in the women’s pentathlon, striving for gold. Other British athletes competing at the Championships are still to be confirmed.

IBA Women’s World Championships
Hosted in Serbia, the Women’s World Boxing Championships will take place from the 8th to the 17th March. IBA President, Ahmad Kremlev says that ‘the best female boxers in the world will fight for the crown’. There will be 12 different weight categories to compete in featuring over 500 boxers from roughly 100 countries.

Guinness Women’s Six Nations Rugby
The women’s Guinness Six Nations Rugby will kick-off this March. Streaming on BBC Sport from the 22nd March, watch as the Six Nations compete in the international competition with a chance to be crowned champions. The first matches will take place on Saturday 22nd March, where Ireland will tackle France and later, Scotland will take on Wales.
